俑
burial figure
俑 is composed of the BuShou of 人(man) and 甬. 甬 is the picture of a bucket, a bucket is a hollow container. In ancient China, emperors and nobles bury living people with their own bodies, then figures with human form are used instead, human figure only has the appearance of human being, but no soul.
