obscure, ashamed

瞢 is composed of 目(an eye), a variant of 目(an eye), a variant of爿(bed) and a variant of two hands(but it has been replaced by the BuShou of 艸). The upper part of瞢depicts a man sleeping on a bed, but such picture has been replaced by the picture of rubbing eyes which represent the act of waking up from a dream. On the other hand, when someone has just woke up, he cannot see clearly, so目is added, to represent obscurity.
