竽
mouth organ
竽 is composed of the radical 竹 (bamboo) and 于 (go). 于 depicts a stream of breath rising upward but bending due to obstruction; when the breath is obstructed, it produces sound. In ancient times, wind instruments were made of bamboo, therefore 竽 is used to represent this type of bamboo wind instrument.
