abandon

捨 is composed of the BuShou of 手(hand) and 舍(small house). 舍 is the picture of a small house which only consists of a top, a pole and a base, even if it is abandoned, the owner won’t have any pity, so 舍 also has the meaning of abandoning, 手 is added to emphasize such act.
