腴

fertile, fat

腴 is composed of the radical 肉 (flesh) and 臾 (pile up). 臾 means pushing upward with both hands and carries the sense of piling up or accumulating. In ancient times, meat was something only the nobility could enjoy. Therefore, 腴 is used to mean fertile, rich, or plump.
