鑠 is composed of 金 (metal) and 樂 (music, joy). 樂 refers to the beautiful sounds produced by plucking strings on a musical instrument. When metal is melted, it produces similar crisp sounds and also emits dazzling bright light, creating a visually pleasing effect. Therefore, 鑠 is used to represent melting as well as bright or shining.
