觀 is composed of 雚 (water bird) and 見 (see). 雚 is a pictograph depicting a water bird with long legs and neck, and excellent eyesight capable of seeing things more comprehensively and deeply. Thus, 觀 means to observe or view, and also refers to a scene or sight.
