釆 depicts a ripe and dangling spike of rice. When rice is ripe, the grains of rice will pop out, so釆 has the meanings of separation and clearness. Now 釆 is hardly used independently, it mostly exists as BuShou or affix of the other HanZi like釋 and 悉.
