觸
touch, contact
觸 is composed of 角 (horn) and 蜀 (Sichuan). 蜀 is a pictograph of a cobra. When a cobra is startled or attacked, it stands tall and spreads its neck, giving an impression of being fierce and combative. Therefore, the original meaning of 觸 is animals butting each other with their horns, and later it came to mean to collide with or to encounter.
